RESIDENTIAL PARKS (LONG-STAY TENANTS) ACT 2006 —
REVIEW
560. Hon KATE DOUST to the
Minister for Commerce:
My question is to the Minister for Commerce, who I am sure is listening
to me. I refer the minister to the statutory review of the Residential Parks
(Long-stay Tenants) Act 2006, finalised in August 2012.
(1) Given the tremendous amount of time that
has passed since the discussion paper was finalised, can the minister commit to
tabling a residential parks long-stay tenants amendment bill before the end of
this year?
(2) Can the minister explain why it has
taken such an extraordinary period of time to deliver much-needed reform in a
crucial area within his portfolio?
The PRESIDENT : The
question was without notice.

The legislation is currently under consideration. I cannot provide any further
information on that at the moment. We are talking about residential parks; is
that right?
Hon Kate Doust : That is right.
Hon
MICHAEL MISCHIN : No, sorry, I will have to get back to the member on that
and provide her with an update on what is happening.
Hon
Kate Doust : You don't know what's going on in your
portfolio!
Hon
MICHAEL MISCHIN : I have a lot of things going on in my portfolio.
