I refer to the
proposed new Department of Parks and Wildlife office on Koombana Drive, Bunbury,
and I ask: (a) what agreements have been entered into between the Government or the Department and the City of Bunbury enabling the Government to build the offices on land owned by the City of Bunbury; (b) will the Minister table the agreements; (c) if no to (b), why not; (d) will the relevant parcels of land be transferred to the Government/Department before building commences; and (e) if the land is not transfer to or vested in the Government/Department before building commences, what are the risks associated with building on land not owned by the Government/Department?

(a)                   The City of Bunbury (City) does not own the site of the proposed Department of Parks and Wildlife office, it is currently a crown land reserve under management of the  City. The City has agreed to the tenure changes required for the Reserve purpose and management change to the Department of Parks and Wildlife
(b)-(c)              Not applicable.
(d)                   As advised in answer a) the site will remain a reserve, however the management will change to the CALM Executive Body for the purpose of “State Government Offices, Conservation, Visitor and Education Facilities”.
(e)                   Nil, the land will remain Crown land either under management of the City or the CALM Executive Body.
