I refer to the 2015 announced “Affordable Housing Strategy 2010-2010” for the Pilbara, and I ask: (a) how many of the 140 social housing and 20 affordable home ownership dwellings have been delivered to date; (b) what is the location or planned location of the social housing dwellings; and (c) what is the location or planned location of the affordable home ownership properties?

In May 2011, the Liberal-National State Government launched the Affordable Housing Strategy 2010-2020:  Opening Doors to Affordable Housing .  The strategy set a headline of delivering 20,000 additional affordable homes by 2020.  We met that target in 2015, five years ahead of schedule.  Rather than focusing solely on social housing, the Affordable Housing Strategy has delivered a range of affordable housing options across the housing continuum, from homelessness to home ownership.   The Liberal-National State Government recognises that affordable housing remains a challenge for many in our community. This is why the Government committed to a new minimum target of 30,000 affordable homes by 2020.  To date more than 22,000 homes have been delivered under the Strategy, including more than 4,900 new social houses to help the most vulnerable people in our community who have no other viable housing options.
In the 2015-16 State Budget, the Liberal-National State Government invested $560 million to deliver 1,500 homes, including 1,000 social housing properties over the next two years.  This significant investment is aimed at the most vulnerable people in our community and will result in this Government halving the number of families with children and seniors on the priority waiting list for social housing by 30 June 2017.
The Housing Authority advises:
(a) 180 social housing dwellings and five affordable home ownership dwellings have been delivered as at 29 February 2016.
(b) The social housing dwellings are located in Bindi Bindi, Jigalong, Karratha, Newman, Onslow, Roebourne, South Hedland, Tom Price, Wakathuni and Wickham.
(c) The affordable home ownership properties are located in Roebourne, South Hedland and Pegs Creek.
