DEPARTMENT
FOR CHILD PROTECTION AND FAMILY SUPPORT — ASSET INVESTMENT
611. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to asset investment at the Department for Child
Protection and Family Support.
(1) The 2014–15
budget papers list the department's head office fit-out as a
significant project. What funding was allocated in the 2013–14 and 2014–15
budgets for the head office fit-out and how much was spent in 2013–14
and 2014–15?
(2) On what
date did tender BMW0238715 open for fit-out works to be undertaken at the
department's head office?
(3) On what date does that tender close?
(4) What is the
value of funds set aside for head office fit-out upgrade works in 2014–15,
and will all funds be spent in the 2014–15 financial year?
(5) When are
works expected to commence for the head office fit-out as outlined in tender
BMW0238715?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) In the 2014–15
budget papers, the department had an allocation of $2.4 million in 2013–14
and $0.3 million in 2014–15 for a number of modifications and fit-out
works for areas within the department's head office. The department
encountered some unexpected delays with works planned for 2013–14 and
only $0.4 million was spent on modifications to the first floor of head office.
The department subsequently requested to
carry over that funding from 2013–14 to 2014–15 and anticipates
it will utilise $2.3 million on various head office works in 2014–15.
(2) The tender opened on 18 May2015.
(3) The tender closes on 29 May
2015.
(4) The
department has allocated $2.3 million for various works at head office and
these funds will either be spent or contractually committed as at 30 June 2015.
(5) It is in August 2015.
