LGBTIQA+ COMMUNITY — DISCRIMINATION —
LEGISLATIVE REFORM
259. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Attorney General:
The previous Premier, current
Premier and the Attorney General have repeatedly made commitments that the
government will introduce legislation to ban conversion therapy, abolish the
Gender Reassignment Board and protect LGBTIQA+ students and teachers from
discrimination.
When can the LGBTIQA+ community
expect to see legislation introduced to deliver on these commitments?

I thank the member for some notice
of the question. The following answer is provided to me by the Attorney
General.
Every Western Australian deserves
to live their life free from unlawful discrimination, and the state government is committed to reform, working alongside the
LGBTIQA+ community to deliver positive outcomes. Legislation to implement
these complex reforms is under development and will be introduced to Parliament
as soon as it is ready.
