ESPLANADE
HOTEL, ALBANY — RESUMPTION
626. Mr P.B. WATSON to the
Premier:
I refer to the Premier's
firm statement during the election campaign that the government would resume
the old Esplanade Hotel land in Albany if the owners did not sell the
development, and to his comment in this house on 16 April that he had not read
the response from the owners to his demand.
(1) Has the Premier now read the
response?
(2) What was the response?
(3) When does the Premier intend to
follow through with his promise?

The owners of the hotel have been advised in writing that unless a proper
