1606. Hon SOPHIA MOERMOND to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to news that gambling
advertising was spotted on public transport in Sydney, raising concerns over
the normalisation of gambling in the community.
(1) Do the laws
and standards of advertising on public transport in Western Australia allow for
gambling advertising?
(2) If yes to
(1), is a ban on gambling advertising on public transport under consideration
by the government?
(3) Does Transperth currently hold
any advertising contracts with gambling companies?
