The West Australian of 1 April 2005 stated that an audit of substantiated cases of abuse of children while in foster care found that between 1993 and 2003, 224 children were abused. (1) Will the minister confirm that the number reported is correct, and, if so, will the minister explain why on 2 March 2004 she informed the Parliament that from those same dates - 1993 to 2004 - 80 substantiated allegations of abuse of children in foster care were made? (2) How many of these cases occurred in each of the years from 1993 to 23 February 2004 and in the year 24 February 2004 to 4 February 2005?
