HIGHWAY STAGE 8 — ABORIGINAL HERITAGE SURVEYS
1472. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Have the
Aboriginal monitors who will do monitoring of ground disturbing activities for
the Roe 8 extension been decided?
(2) If yes to (1), who are they and what site monitoring training
have they received?
(3) Will
monitoring take place in current registered sites within the Roe 8 project
area, including DAA 3709; former registered sites, including DAA 4107 and DAA
3296; and, areas adjacent to former and current registered sites?
(4) If
archaeological evidence of Aboriginal occupation such as stone tools or other
artefacts are discovered, will excavations to salvage and record other
artefacts likely to be in the same location take place?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
