The Department of Fisheries provides a range of publications to inform and educate Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities in Western Australia to ensure they understand legal requirements relating to fishing in Western Australia and the reasons for the rules that are in place.
Publications in languages other than English are produced according to the needs of the community.
Publications particularly relating to crustaceans include:
· Crabbing for Blue Swimmer Crabs in the West Coast Region brochure - translated in Vietnamese.
· Crabbing for Blue Swimmer Crabs and Green Mud Crabs in the Gascoyne Region brochure - translated in Vietnamese.
· FMP no. 243 - Future Management of the Perth Metropolitan Recreational Roe's Abalone Fishery - translated into Vietnamese.
· Fishing for Abalone signs - translated into Vietnamese and Simplified Chinese.
The Department's new website, due to be launched in April 2012, will include a Google translate facility allowing communities from all backgrounds to access information related to fishing in WA.
