408. Hon Sophie McNeill to the minister representing the Minister for Defence
Industries:
I refer to the announcement
on 16 October 2024 regarding the defence precinct at Henderson shipyard.
(1) Can the minister confirm whether the Henderson
dry dock will be used for the maintenance of United States submarines and/or US
nuclear-powered submarines?
(2) Is it still the WA government's understanding
that maintenance of Australian nuclear submarines will occur at the Henderson
dry dock?
(3) If no to (1), what will the dry dock be used
for?

Minister for Defence Industries.
(1) Use of the future Henderson defence precinct
is a matter for the Commonwealth government.
(2) Yes.
(3) Not applicable.
