(1) Western Australia (WA) will participate, as a non referring State, in the national regulatory system for Vocational Education and Training. WA will enact legislation to mirror the Commonwealth legislation creating a nationally consistent regulatory environment. Western Australia RTOs will have the same status as RTOs regulated by the National Regulator.
WA has not agreed to refer its powers for the regulation of VET providers to the Commonwealth as part of the establishment of the National VET Regulator.
Under this arrangement WA will retain the regulation of Western Australian providers including State Training Providers and Schools. WA will also continue to accredit nationally recognised courses.
(2)(a) - (c) Not applicable.
(3) All courses and qualifications offered in Western Australia will continue to be recognised under the principles of mutual recognition as Nationally Recognised Training and will be accepted across Australia. The new regulatory arrangements make no changes to the national recognition of all VET qualifications.
(4) No.
(5) Not applicable.
