I answer this question on behalf of
the Minister for Agriculture and Food, who is out on urgent parliamentary
business, on behalf of the Minister for Planning.
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) Earlier this year, the state government announced
that it would develop the first ever urban greening strategy for the
Perth and Peel regions. The strategy will take a whole-of-government approach
to urban greening and is being developed by
the Western Australian Planning Commission with support from the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Department of Water and Environmental
Regulation. The preparation of the strategy
is a significant undertaking and further announcements will made in due course.
