WATER CORPORATION —
INFRASTRUCTURE — EXMOUTH
661. Ms M. BEARD to the Minister for Water:
I have a supplementary question.
Further information would be greatly appreciated. Will the minister consider reviewing upgrades that might be required to allow
future development in Exmouth in the midyear financial review process?

AnswerView source ↗

I
have now found my notes on this. One of the issues in Exmouth is not only water
sources, but also water treatment . This means dealing with wastewater
and the like. I am advised that the existing Exmouth wastewater treatment plant
has sufficient capacity to meet the needs of the town for the foreseeable
future and that there are no current plans
to build a new wastewater treatment plant. There is continuing work being done
with the Water Corporation to look at the growth of the town with regard to the
treatment plant, future community population needs and development opportunities
for Exmouth. To answer the member's question, the Water Corporation
continues to work with the local shire on current needs both for water supply
and wastewater treatment.
The SPEAKER : That concludes
question time.
