I refer to the Western Australian Police Force Firearms Licensing and Registration Portal, and I ask: (a) is access to the Portal required in order to apply for, renew, or otherwise maintain a firearms licence; (b) is the use of the Portal currently optional or is it compulsory for all interactions related to firearms licensing; (c) is it mandatory for firearms licence holders in Western Australia to obtain a digital identity, such as myID, in order to access the Portal; and (d) what alternatives are available to individuals who are unwilling or unable to obtain a digital identity?

(a) Access to the Firearms Licensing and Registration Portal will eventually be required to access all of the services for firearms license holders, range licenses and for firearms dealers
b) The portal is not compulsory to use for all firearms licensing types.
c) The Western Australia Police Force Licensing Services Team is available to assist persons who require an alternative to the mylD digital identity system, in booking a suitable time and location to undergo a 100-point identification check.
d) Western Australian Firearms Licence Holders who need assistance with their transitional licensing arrangements, or alternate methods, should contact the WA Police Force Licence Holders Hotline on 1300 894 474 or visit their Local Police Station.
