I refer to the Western Australian Rugby League’s quest to enter a team for Perth in the Australian Rugby League in 2012, and the wish of the ARL to stage a Rugby League World Cup match in Perth between England and Papua New Guinea in October 2008 as part of that program. (1) Does the government support the WARL’s quest for a team in the Australian Rugby League? (2) Does the government support the ARL in its endeavours to stage the Rugby League World Cup match? (3) Will the government through EventsCorp or some other entity underwrite the additional $100 000 needed to stage the Rugby League World Cup game? Hon KIM CHANCE
