SEX OFFENDERS —
OPERATION FLEDERMAUS — ROEBOURNE
712. Mr P.A. KATSAMBANIS to the Minister for Police:
I have a supplementary question.
Given that we all agree that the officers involved in these matters are
excellent and have done a wonderful job under the circumstances, has the
minister removed all the barriers identified by former police commissioner Karl
O'Callaghan regarding the difficulty of WA police getting information
on both child sex offenders and their victims, such as those identified in
Roebourne?

The member's government had
eight and a half years and former police commissioner O'Callaghan had
more than a decade to remove whatever impediments they felt were there. They
did not do that. Yes, member, we are getting on with the job of protecting the
community of Western Australia and we are getting much better results than the
previous government ever did.
The SPEAKER : That is the end
of question time.
