Minister for Transport:
I refer to the best practice industry conditions that apply
to the Tonkin Highway extension stages 1 and 2 and the Thomas Road upgrade with
reference to the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union.
(1) Which
minister or ministers were involved in the negotiations with the CFMEU leading
up to the acceptance by government?
(2) Why was
BPIC applied only to the Tonkin Highway and Thomas Road projects?
(3) How many
contractors have been subject to BPIC?
(4) Can the minister please list those contractors?

industry conditions—WABPIC—will be trialled on the Tonkin
Highway extension and Thomas Road upgrade project before any
determination is made regarding applying the conditions to other projects. The
contracts for these works are still to be awarded.
