(2) I am informed by the Department of Local Government and Regional Development that the recommendation to which you refer is contained in what is an Interim Report and that the proposals put forward in the Report are intended to generate discussion and comment and have in no way been committed to. The recommendation relates to enhancing the existing project approvals system specifically in regard to the removal of overlap and duplication. I would be happy to raise any specific written concerns that the member has with this recommendation with the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure and the Minister for the Environment.
