BINDI BINDI ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY — HOUSING
(1) How many houses have been demolished by the state government at Bindi Bindi Aboriginal community in Onslow? (2) How many houses at Bindi Bindi are scheduled to be demolished by the state government and when? (3) When is work to commence on the six new two to three-bedroom replacement homes that were proposed for Bindi Bindi? The Department of Housing advises — (1) Three triplexes equating to nine units. (2) The Department of Housing has no plans to demolish further houses at this point. (3) Houses are currently under construction in factory and when completed will be delivered to the township of Onslow and targeted for Bindi Bindi community residents. In addition, the department has commenced the refurbishment of six units as part of its 2009–10 program. These works are approximately 70 per cent complete.
