UNIVERSITIES
— LEGISLATION
550. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
Minister for Education:
I refer to the preparation of legislative changes to the
respective universities acts to allow greater commercial decision-making by the
universities. Does the government have a view that student and staff
representation on the governing bodies of the universities is an impediment to
exercising that decision-making and will that be reflected in the proposed
legislation?
