Co
125. Mr Basil Zempilas to the Minister for Health Infrastructure:
I refer to the
minister's comments that a probity auditor reviewed the process of signing the
letter of intent with Roberts Co to build the new women's and babies' hospital.
(1) Did the review identify any deficiencies in
the process?
(2) If so, what were those deficiencies?
(3) If not, how can the minister say he has full

(1)–(3) I want to thank the member for his
question. As I have previously said in the house, there is a live procurement
process right now. As part of that process, we have a probity auditor who
provides advice on the governance arrangements. They provide advice on that
process. I do have full confidence in this process. It was a demonstration of a
system that is working that in March this year, information became publicly
available that the sister company of Roberts Co went into administration. Of
course, that generated discussions as part of that live procurement process. Roberts
Co then withdrew from that consortium. The probity auditor provided us with
advice and then we proceeded forthwith. I am very confident that, very soon, we
will be able to make an announcement in relation to the contract.
