I refer to the federal government’s Investing in our Schools program. Has the minister received complaints from Western Australian government schools that they are required to use government-nominated contractors and thereby are being charged far more for works than they would be charged by other contractors if they could source them themselves; and, if so, what is she doing about it? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

To the best of my knowledge and recollection, I have not had a complaint in this regard. However, that is not to suggest that the department may not have received correspondence or a complaint from a school principal about this matter. To the best of my knowledge, I have not even seen a briefing note about this issue from the department, nor have I heard if the department has received correspondence, although that is not to suggest that it may not have.
