1068. Hon Tjorn Sibma to
the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer to
facilities management and the provision of safe teaching, learning and working
conditions across the TAFE estate.
(1) Has the minister been made aware of the
prevalence of exposed and potentially deteriorating asbestos materials across
the TAFE estate?
(2) How much has been spent on the identification,
management, mitigation and/or removal of asbestos across the TAFE estate since
2017?
(3) How much is allocated to be spent on the above
actions through the TAFE colleges asset investment program for the 2025–26
budget year?

been provided by the Minister for Skills and TAFE.
(1)–(3) WA
TAFE colleges undertake regular asbestos containing material inspections in
line with their asbestos containing materials register and management plan.
The mitigation and removal of asbestos where required is included in the
ongoing program of remedial works.
