I refer to the Health Regulations Amendment (Medicines and Poisons) Regulations 2024 , and I ask: (a) what was the catalyst for bringing about these amendments to the regulations; (b) who was consulted prior to these amendment regulations being finalised; (c) did any person consulted raise any concerns; (d) if yes to (c), what were these concerns; (e) in reference to (d), have the finalised amendment regulations addressed these concerns; and (f) if no to (e), why not?

(b) The Department of Health (DOH) conducted open public consultation in 202 2 includ ing peak bodies, pharmacists and health consumers, as well as selected practitioner s .

(d) Concerns raised during consultation included aspects of the proposed amended regulatory scheme for stimulants and medicinal cannabis.
