I refer to the State Government’s “South Metropolitan and Peel Sub-regional Plan” and any associated land tenure arrangements and ask: (a) what is the status of this plan; (b) when is this plan and associated land tenure arrangements expected to be finalised; (c) what provision for "Active Open Space" has been made in the Plan; (d) When will this Plan be released to the Public; (e) Will there be a consultation process associated with the proposed final Plan and what will be the timeline for this consultation process; and (f) Have the land and land management issues been resolved for the proposed Baldivis District Sporting Complex, and if not, why not?

(a) The draft South Metropolitan Peel Sub-regional Planning Framework was released for public comment on 1 May 2015. The comment period closes on 31 July 2015.
(b) Following the consideration of public submissions it is expected that the South Metropolitan Peel Sub-regional Planning Framework will be finalised by early 2016. Where the reservation of land becomes necessary as a result of the finalised Framework and/or subsequent district structure planning, amendments to the Metropolitan and Peel region schemes will be initiated as necessary, leading to progressive changes in land tenure in these cases.
(c) In addition to existing facilities in this sub-region, the draft Framework identifies future sites for regional sporting facilities and space in the following locations:
- Haynes (Twelfth Road) - 64 ha
- Cardup - 40 ha
- Jandakot - about 20 ha
- Lark Hill - about 20 ha expansion of existing site
- Karnup (east) - 50 ha
- Ravenswood - 56 ha
- Blythewood - 49 ha

(f) A 50 hectare site at Karnup has been identified in the draft Framework to meet the regional sporting needs of the area that includes Baldivis. The City of Rockingham is currently advancing matters relating to the future development and management of the planned facilities.
