CAPE PERON TOURISM PRECINCT
My second question without notice, of which some notice has been given, is to the Minister for Environment. Can I proceed? Several members interjected. The PRESIDENT : Too late now! The member has a bonus. Hon LYNN MacLAREN : I ask — (1) Is the minister aware of the community group known as Preserve Point Peron for the People, which includes 3 444 members? (2) Has the minister been advised that this group believes the Cape Peron tourist precinct will entail the construction of canals, luxury housing and hotels and an inland marina at Point Peron? (3) Is the minister aware of concerns that such a proposal is likely to — (a) result in the loss of a large area of healthy seagrass; (b) threaten the thrombolite community at nearby Lake Richmond; (c) require the sale of public land, including a Bush Forever site; and (d) require the sale of a large section of Rockingham Lakes Regional Park for high-rise apartments and car parks? I thank the member for the question. I did try to indicate with a nod that, unfortunately, I do not have a copy of that and I do not recall seeing that question at all. My apologies, but it has not been brought to my attention.
