PLANNING
FEES NOTICE 2012
425. Hon ED DERMER to the minister representing the Minister
for Planning:
I refer to the recent gazettal of the planning fees notice
2012.
(1) For what
reason have the fees for endorsement of a deposited plan or strata survey plan
increased by up to 10 per cent?
(2) What amount
was received in fees for this service in 2011–12 to date, and what is
the budgeted revenue for this fee in 2012–13?
(3) For what
reason has a new fee for the issuing of certificates under region planning
schemes been introduced, and what is the budgeted revenue for this fee in 2012–13?
(4) For what
reason has a new fee for cartographic and spatial data services been
introduced, and what is the budgeted revenue for this fee in 2012–13?

I thank the
member for some notice of the question.
(1) The fees
have been increased because previous fees for endorsement of a deposited plan
or strata survey plan were under-recovering costs.
(2) The amount
received to date for 2011–12 is $1 382 489. The budgeted revenue for
2012–13 is $1 584 000.
(3) These are
not new fees. A $25 fee was required via the text of the three region schemes
until May. The region schemes text was amended in May so that the fees could be
updated using section 20 of the Planning and Development Act 2005. Once the
region schemes amendment was gazetted, the fees had to be included in the
planning fees notice for 2011–12. The budgeted revenue for 2012–13
is $673 000.
(4) In the
review of fees and charges for 2012–13, it was established that the
Department of Planning was incurring costs for these services. The budgeted
revenue for 2012–13 is $25 000.
