UBER TAXI SERVICE
618. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the Minister
for Transport:
I have a supplementary question. Is the minister stating
that, at the meeting at the end of August with Uber representatives, he informed them that the impending uberX operations were illegal?

AnswerView source ↗

Off the top of my head, my understanding is that I have not
had a meeting. I will double-check. I have not had a meeting with Uber in Perth since it launched, but I will double-check
that and I will apologise if I am wrong. There has been no indication to me
that uberX was being launched. I have said from the
outset when uberX was launched that I am very
concerned about it. It is an illegal service.
