The Department directly provides the following services that are specifically targeted at meeting the needs of Aboriginal people: · Best Start Services are aimed at increasing the life opportunities for Aboriginal children between the ages of 0-5 years by focussing on activities that will improve their health, educational opportunities and social development. · The Family Information and Records Bureau enables Aboriginal people who were separated from their families to gain access to their personal and family history information. · A full paid scholarship to the value of Level 5 Year 4 is provided for Aboriginal officers who wish to complete tertiary studies in social work or psychology.
