WESTERN POWER — BUY LOCAL POLICY
Representatives of the local car industry have already told me that Western Power does not have a Buy Local policy. Is this policy being applied across the board? During the Labor government’s time in office, Western Power purchased its vehicles from the local car industry. Now that the Liberal-National Parties are in power, Western Power says it does not have a Buy Local policy and it buys its cars in Perth. The SPEAKER : I will allow that as a supplementary question, member for Albany. Mr T.R. BUSWELL

I am not aware of that situation. If the member for Albany provides me with the detail, I will be happy to follow up his question. I stress to the house that this government has not changed the Buy Local policy. Mr J.N. Hyde : You have done nothing. Mr T.R. BUSWELL : Done nothing! We have carried on a policy that is good. We have tried to improve the state supply system where we can. Do members opposite honestly think that this government, with its commitment to the people and businesses of regional Western Australia, would take the sort of action suggested?
