JIGALONG COMMUNITY — DIALYSIS EQUIPMENT
330. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the Minister for Aboriginal
Affairs:
I refer to the health hub at the
Jigalong community.
(1) Is the
dialysis equipment underused because the attending health professionals will
not take the risk of patients being seriously affected if a power failure
occurs?
(2) If yes to
(1), what alternative arrangements are in place to treat patients who need
dialysis?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) This program
is not a state government initiative; it is a private arrangement between the
community health provider, Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service and Newcrest
Mining.
(2) Not applicable.
