A WA parliamentary question on notice from 2009 raises concerns about FESA's handling of fire management, including their consideration of past reports, responsibilities in metropolitan parks, response to the Margaret River fire, and adherence to Royal Commission recommendations. The answers provided are brief and largely dismissive of the concerns.

I thank the Minister for his answer to question No. 1263, and further ask -
(1) As the Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) cannot comment on the 1984 Fire Review Report, is it to be assumed that they did not study it, when the latest Fire Report was compiled or Cabinet Minutes were being prepared?
(2) As FESA is not responsible for fuel reduction in Kings Park, which other metropolitan parks does this apply to?
(3) Is it a fact that the recent Margaret River fire was contained by volunteers and Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) before FESA arrived at the scene, yet FESA makes claims about the fire on its website?
(4) Is it a practice of FESA to reject recommendations of Western Australian Royal Commissions?
