I refer to the Goldfields Land Councils Reaching Agreement Together conference held in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Friday 16 June 2000 and ask -
(a) were any representatives of your office present;
(b) if so what where their names and positions;
(c) if not, why not;
(d) did you or your office receive an invitation to this forum; and
(e) do you support the concept of mediation of Native Title claims in the Goldfields?

The Minister Replied:
(a) - (d) There was no representative of the Ministry of the Premier and Cabinet at the conference on 16 June 2000. Neither the Ministry nor myself received an invitation to this forum.
(e) Mediation of native title claims in the Goldfields is supported if it is conducted according to the same principles of fairness and accountability which the State applies everywhere else.
