I refer to my parliamentary question of 11 September 2003 in relation to the child protection unit. (1) Will the minister advise whether any of the State Government’s budget allocation of $6.501 million to the Department of Health over four years, to support the implementation of the Government’s response to the Gordon inquiry, is available, as promised, to provide staff for the additional therapeutic services to children who are victims of abuse? (2) If so, when will funds be provided to employ staff? (3) How many staff will be employed in that unit? Hon SUE ELLERY
