(1) The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure is currently analysing the requirements for legislation and licensing computer systems ahead of future reforms.
(2) The South Australian reforms introduce new pathways for progressing from the Heavy Rigid or Heavy Combination classes to the Multi Combination class, involving training with a registered training organisation and supervised driving. These are broadly similar to the proposed national reforms. During its ongoing engagement with other road agencies, DTMI will monitor South Australia’s experience with its reforms with the aim of delivering reforms that work for WA.
