I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question. I have a problem with the identification of the last two components
of the answer. I will answer the first four questions. I will get clarification
for the last two and answer them at the end of question time.
(1) It is
estimated that the total funds sought in applications currently under
consideration by Lotterywest as at 8 April 2014 is $103.77 million. The total
funds sought in applications for grants is constantly changing as existing
applications are processed and new applications are received. The grants
assessment process generally takes a minimum of four months.
(2) The total
approved direct grants budget for the 2013–14 financial year is $122 million.
Grants to the value of $94.836 million have already been approved, leaving
$27.164 million available for allocations at the end of June 2014.
(3) Lotterywest
has an approved direct grants budget of $122 million available for distribution
this year. The grants budget for next year is the subject of the state budget
process.
(4) Not
applicable.
I will respond
to questions (5) and (6) at the end of question time.
