The Minister for Training has been provided with the following response
(1) I am advised 109 workers were informed that they were being laid off.
(2) The Department of Education and Training provides funding to support the statewide Employment Directions Network. The Employment Directions Network consists of 24 not for profit community-based agencies, which offer free training information and careers advice to all Western Australians.
Eligible workers were also able to access up to $500 for training assistance through the Department's Profit from Experience Program.
(3-4) Yes, all retrenched West Australian workers can access career advice and training information through the Employment Directions Network and the Department's Career Development Centre.
(5) The Department of Education and Training provides $7.7 million per annum to support the statewide Employment Directions Network, which can provide career advice and training information to displaced workers.
