The Minister has provided the following response
Ministerial Office
(1) The only media monitoring service provided to my Ministerial Office is through the Government Media Office.
(1a-e) Not applicable.
Department Child Protection
(1) Yes
(a) Media Monitors
(b) Approximately $50 000 per annum
(c) $19 160 10 (excluding GST)
(d) 12 months - due to end at the close of business on 20 July 2009 but there is an option to extend the contract for a period agreed to by both parties.
(e) 21 July 2008
Department For Communities
The following represents figures for the whole of the Department for Communities.
(1) Yes
(a) Media Monitors
(b) $50 000 over two years
(c) $25 370 55
(d) 12 months with a 12 month extension option
(e) 17 November 2008
These costs also include media monitoring for the Office for Multicultural Interests, which was transferred from the Department on 1 March 2009.
