HANSON CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS — RED HILL QUARRY
I refer to Hanson Construction Materials’ licence to quarry at Red Hill that was due to expire in November 2009. (1) Has this licence been extended or renewed? (2) If yes to (1), upon what date does the extended or renewed licence expire? (3) If no to (1), will the department investigate reports of ongoing quarrying activity at Hanson’s Red Hill site? (1)–(3) The current licence issued to Hanson Construction Materials for its Red Hill facility by the Department of Environment and Conservation under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 commenced on 1 October 2005 with an expiry date of 30 September 2010, so it is still valid.
