I refer to the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority (OPEA) and ask: (a) what is the average length of time taken by the OEPA to approve Environmental Management Plans; (b) of the twenty-three Environmental Management Plans not completed in 2012–2013 how many have still not been completed, and why; and (c) which plans have not been completed?

(a) The assessment and approval of Environmental Management Plans is undertaken on a priority basis. Timelines vary according to the complexity of each plan and its agreed priority. The Office of the Environmental Protection Authority endeavours to meet proponent's project development schedules in approving Environmental Management Plans.
(b) At the end of the 2012-2013 financial year, 80 Environmental Management Plans were being considered by the Office of the Environmental Protection Authority. Of these 38 are still under review.
