The Minister has provided the following answer:
Tourism
(1) $8,477.19 - 2 debtors
(2) Celebrate WA and Argyle Kimberley Resort.
(3) Tourism Western Australia's existing debt recovery policy was applied during this time, which requires pre-payment by debtors of their portion of joint promotions prior to the commencement of the promotion. Further, it has been long standing practice that adequate documentation is obtained to substantiate the existence of a contract to enable legal recovery action and regular follow ups made by accounts receivable staff.
Rottnest Island Authority
(1) $3,910.25 - 2 debtors
(2) Jackson Earl Hunt and Quokkalicious
(3) The RIA has improved debt collection rates considerably over the past 12 months. This is mainly due to:
Employment of appropriately qualified staff.
Establishing customer relationships and reinforcing RIA payment terms.
Utilising payment plans for approved customers.
Better utilisation of debt collection services.
