I
thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. Before I give the
answer, I want to advise Hon Neil
Thomson that I just received a message that they have not received his
parliamentary question so he might want to check the process.
(1) Under the
state electric vehicle strategy, 1 970 active vehicles are eligible. This
represents 22.4 per cent of the total government fleet.
(2) Vehicles not
eligible under the strategy are medium or large passenger vehicles; people
movers; large sports utility vehicles, or SUVs; and other light commercial
vehicles, such as four-wheel drives, vans and utilities.
Also not eligible are vehicles allocated to the Western Australia Police Force
and vehicles garaged at private residences overnight.
(3)–(4) There are currently 57 active electric vehicles
and 42 on order, representing five per cent of eligible vehicles and 1.1
per cent of the total fleet.
