The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) is working with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and continues to monitor fuel prices. The Commissioner for Consumer Protection has contacted all Western Australian based retailers to confirm their obligations. There have been no identified breaches of the Australian Consumer Law.
The State Government has expanded the FuelWatch scheme to cover all regional Western Australia as well as appointing the State Fuel Controller to ensure fuel can be distributed to areas of localised shortage.
