STANDING COMMITTEE ON
PROCEDURE AND PRIVILEGES — FIFTY-FIFTH REPORT —DEPARTMENT OF
THE PREMIER AND CABINET
886. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I refer to the fifty-fifth report of
the Legislative Council Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges and the
Premier's knowledge of the dealings of the director general and acting
director general of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet with the
committee.
(1) Did the
director general, Mr Foster, and the acting director general, Ms Roper,
communicate with the Premier by email concerning their dealings with the
standing committee?
(2) Did the
Premier communicate with the director general and acting director general by
email concerning their dealings with the standing committee?
(3) If yes to (1) or (2), do those
emails still exist, or have they been expunged?
(4) If they no longer exist, when
were they expunged, on whose instructions and initiative, and why?
(5) If they do still exist, will the
Premier table those emails; and, if not, why not?
(6) If the
Premier refuses to table the emails, is it because he is concerned that they
may implicate him, Mr Foster or Ms Roper in the potential contempts of
Parliament that are the subject of the report?
The PRESIDENT : Leader of the House,
I think the last part of the question might have been seeking an opinion.
