I think I was clear.
There is currently a hospital operating on the site. One of the great
advantages of our plan and our announcement is that that hospital will continue
to operate on that site whilst we undertake the construction of the brand-new
hospital. When services are transitioned, the old or existing facility will be
available to be repurposed for other needs in the community. The member is quite
right to highlight one of the great strengths of our plan, that it will ensure
that services continue uninterrupted to the community while we build the new
hospital. It will also give us the capacity to use the existing facility for
other purposes once construction is completed.
The Speaker: I would just like to remind everyone
that, once again, question time has taken a lot longer than it should. There
have been far too many interjections from both sides and some of the responses
have been far too long. If we could keep the questions short, interjections
down, and responses short and relevant to the question, that would be much
appreciated going forward. That concludes question time.
