I am advised that the Department of Health is not aware of any specific assessment of Busselton District Hospital as having a serviceable life of less than five years.

I am aware of some concerns in relation to aspects of Kevin Cullen Community Health Centre.
3.
The useful operating life of the hospital and community health centre would be dependent on service delivery needs and any consequent capital planning requirements.
4.
With the establishment of the new Area Health structure in the South West, detailed services planning will now commence. This will result in the determination of future capital requirements at Busselton and will address the need to replace or upgrade the existing facilities.

It is anticipated that the detailed services planning for South West Health will commence in April 2002 and is anticipated to be completed within 3 months.
