FIREARMS ACT — REVOCATION NOTICES
1548. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Attorney General:
I
refer to the recent decision by the State Administrative Tribunal that exposed
that the content of some disqualification letters had been issued by WA
police without the power to do so given that key parts of the Firearms Act 2024
have not yet come into effect.
(1) Is the Attorney General aware that the Corruption
and Crime Commission has a police misconduct function?
(2) Has the CCC
received any police misconduct complaints surrounding the issuing of these
disqualification letters?
(3) Has the CCC commenced an investigation into this
concerning matter that has exposed some within WA police acting outside
the law of our state?
(4) If no to (3), will the Attorney General
refer this matter to the CCC?
