Schools located outside the air cooling zone may have all or some air-conditioning provided by their local Parents and Citizens' Association, or by other school funding sources. (2) Schools located within the air cooling zone - 100%. Information regarding air cooling in schools located outside the air cooling zone is not readily available. (3) No. (4) The air cooling zone is identified by the 25 day Relative Strain Index Line as determined by the Bureau of Meteorology. Schools located outside this zone (to the west) are considered to have less than 25 days in a calendar year when the temperature is not conducive to normal thermal comfort. This is consistent with the Government's Energy Smart Program to reduce energy consumption and to use natural environmental considerations when designing new schools and upgrading existing schools. (5) Not applicable. (6) Not applicable.
