With the move to the Student-Centred Funding Model, resourcing for students with disability is provided as direct funding, not as education assistant hours. Schools may request a review of a student’s funding level when there is substantially new information regarding their disability or related circumstances.
The information below refers to submissions for reassessment, exclusive of mandated reviews.
1. The Department of Education has advised that currently, only reassessments that result in an increase or decrease in funding are recorded. The system is being upgraded as a priority and this information will be captured for future reporting.
2. In 2015, 10 funding allocations were increased as the result of an application for reassessment. As at 31 March 2016, eight funding allocations have been increased as the result of an application for reassessment.
3. Yes.
4. In 2015, 43 funding allocations were increased as the result of applications for reassessment. As at 31 March 2016, 52 funding allocations (including the eight from the South West education region) have been increased as the result of applications for reassessment.
